Contextual English for Senior High School is the English student book designed to develop students' understanding of English as an international communication media. The contents of this book are under the auspices of the 2013 revised curriculum. This book contains material for language purpose which enriched by materials related to multidisciplinary knowledge and skills. The materials in this book are arranged in accordance with students daily life context and suitable with the students interest and psychological characters, Equipped with the QR code tool, this book tries to stimulate the students to learn English more actively and creatively in a modem and fun way. This book is also provided with higher order thinking skills (HOTS) questions type which leads the students to be more evaluative, creative, and innovative in identifying and solving problems at school and in life.

Materials for learning

Grid Map presents the material discussed in each lesson

• Preparation is a warming up activity to stimulate students before learning the main materials

Core Material provides the main material for each lesson Get the Expression is provided to increase the students' language competence in

speaking. Language Usage provides grammar knowledge related to the material discussed in a lesson .

Language Use gives students some activities in learning English skills Exercise is provided to evaluate students knowledge of English

Summary and Reflection helps the students to review the lesson

Enrichment provides entertaintments and challenging assignments HOTS Corner enhances the students' entical thinking skills to be more evaluative

creative, and innovative in any situation

Semester Test is the parameter for the teacher to analyze the students competence in each semester.

Glossary consists of the meaning of difficult words students may find in the book.
